-Marmora, Ontario Canada, (population 1,358) was dubbed the "Most Centennial Town in Canada" in 1967 due to its intense, year-long celebration of Canada's 100th anniversary, as profiled in The Toronto Globe and Mail Magazine. Residents fully engaged in the spirit by donning 19th-century attire and hosting continuous community events, earning the small town national recognition. It was liberation from Britain and got its own flag etc.
----Thats me 1967 with the sunglasses 2nd on left. One of the pictures that appeared in the magazine was this one and one with the clock tower which gave the time as 10 AM, it was Tuesday a school day. The next day after it appeared in print I got dragged into the office at school for skipping school. The principal recognized me from the article. I was guilty. the proof was in the photos. What I got was a 4 day suspension which I thought was great.
