YESTERDAY'S NEWS TODAY 1921 Tragedy

TRAGEDY HITS PIONEER FAMILY  July 1921

The Airharts were  early  pioneers who cleared the land and opened the Airhart Settlement just over the boundary into Lake Township in the early 1800s.  Oliver Airhart,  born in 1852 was later to become Reeve of the Village.  He had four sons - Bruce, Frank Charles and Stewart,  but it was Stewart who  was the focus  of  a family tragedy.
