TRAGEDY HITS PIONEER FAMILYJuly 1921

The Airharts wereearlypioneers who cleared the land and opened the Airhart Settlement just over the boundary into Lake Township in the early 1800s.  Oliver Airhart,  born in 1852 was later to become Reeve of the Village.  He had four sons - Bruce, Frank,  Charles and Stewart,  but it was Stewart whowas the focusofa family tragedy.
